After decades of research showing that pulse oximeters readings are much more likely to be inaccurate on darker skin tones, the FDA is now looking at whether it should change some of its labeling and regulations. Associate Professor Valencia Joyner Koomson of Tufts University joins Soledad O’Brien to talk about how these readings can mean anything from denied Medicare coverage to premature discharges.
