Special Report: The Electoral College

In the early morning hours of Nov. 9th, Donald Trump was named President-elect, winning the electoral college 290 to 232. His opponent, Hillary Clinton, then became the fifth person in history to win the popular vote, but lose the presidency. The votes are still being counted, but as of Nov. 18, she holds a 1.3 million vote lead over Trump. Since the election, many supporters of Clinton have called for the elimination of the electoral college, while supporters of the process say it’s necessary. Matter of Fact correspondent Liz Palka offers a Special Report on the electoral college and why the United States uses this unique system.
