When Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) announced she was running for president, she chose to do it in historically immigrant town Lawrence, Massachusetts. Established in the 1800’s, Lawrence was first populated by European immigrants coming to work in textile mills. Today, more than 80 percent of the population is Latino. Matter of Fact Correspondent Diane Roberts visited Lawrence for a look at how immigration over the past century has shaped this town’s past, present, and future.
