Housing prices have been out of reach for many Americans for decades, but especially in the last few years as developers and investors have crowded out first-time home buyers. To highlight the threat to neighborhoods, Milwaukee artist and gallery owner Fatima Laster created a “displacement welcome mat,” out of “cash for homes” signs.
