Spurred by wins last in New Jersey and Virginia, Democrats are looking to keep that momentum going all the way to the 2018 midterm election. They’ve flipped 21 legislative seats this year, but do they have a winning strategy? Martin O’Malley, former governor of Maryland and a 2016 presidential contender, says democrats in local and state races don’t need the national party to win.
