When Michael Bornstein saw Holocaust deniers online exploiting his photo at the liberation of Auschwitz, he was horrified. After over 70 years of silence, Bornstein, with the help of his daughter Debbie Bornstein Holinstat, dug into his family’s history in Poland to publish his book Survivors Club: The True Story of a Very Young Prisoner of Auschwitz. They sit down with Soledad O’Brien to discuss the research process, the recent threats against Jewish centers and the lessons from Michael’s story that are especially relevant today.
Meet the Bornstein family and hear more of Michael’s story while he was at Auschwitz.
