Right now, the unemployment rate is at 4.1 percent, which is good for the economy overall. But a tighter job market means those without work are finding it harder to land a new role. In November, more than 2.8 million people had been looking for jobs for at least 15 weeks. Victor Tan Chen is a sociologist at Virginia Commonwealth University. He joins Soledad O’Brien in studio to discuss the impacts of long-term unemployment and to look at possible solutions to improve conditions for the labor force.
