The FBI is investigating a series of equipment fires along the Dakota Access Pipeline construction in Jasper County, IA on suspicion of arson.

The 1,100-mile pipeline would cross four states, including an area that would run under the Missouri River near the main water source for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Hundreds of Native American tribes and other activists continue their months-long protest, setting up camp near both the construction and the water.

The pipeline company reports damage to the construction equipment is estimated to be over $2 million. Some investigators are pointing fingers at the protesters, alleging that the protesters are responsible for the vandalism.

Dakota Access is offering a $100,000 reward for “information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.”
