It’s a shocking statistic: an estimated 22 veterans commit suicide each day in America. The military says financial instability and lack of support transitioning from active duty play a big role in the epidemic. Soledad is joined by Mike Haynie, founder and Executive Director of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University which works to empower veterans. Among those who say the IVMF program is a life-changing experience is veteran David Sharpe. He says the support from IVMF helped pull him back from the brink and prepare him for life as a successful small business owner. He joins the conversation with Darby his service dog.
